Alright for especially the young in their first apartments living on take out too much and the rest of you who love my work here are a few recipes that are fast easy and delicious.
Starlight's Wings
Two recipes here for both use two pounds of chicken wings.
Starlight's Hot Wings:
Two pounds of chicken wings
Splash of vegetable oil
Screaming hot sauce
One lime
Mix in a bowl all the ingredients with the lime juice squeezed into the mix coat wings thoroughly with lots of hot sauce squirted in use a large bowl. Bake on a baking sheet or oven roasting pan for thirty minutes at 400 degrees on middle rack.
Starlight's Honey Garlic Wings:
Mix in a bowl four cloves of garlic chopped three Tbsp. liquid honey (if you have creamed honey microwave on high for twenty seconds). One Tbsp. soya sauce. Dash of vegetable oil. Toss all the ingredients in a large bowl. Once coated bake on a sheet for thirty minutes at 400 degrees.
Starlight's Home Fries:
Six big potatoes or ten small ones
Celery, seasoned or regular salt
Olive oil splash or vegetable oil
sprinkle of parsley flakes or chopped parsley
Wash and chop the potatoes with skin on then toss in all the ingredients till coated. Spread on a baking sheet or pan bake for ten minutes on 400 degrees then flip them with a flipper and bake for ten more minutes longer if still not soft all the way through. They should be lightly browned. Add a dash of oil if need be when you flip them and sprinkle of parsley.
Serve immediately.
Starlight's Caesar Salad:
One head of romaine lettuce
One half cup of vegetable or other oil
three cloves of garlic or one for less garlicky taste
an egg
one quarter of a lime
pinch of salt
parmesan cheese to taste
one quarter tsp of mustard if you have it
one round of fresh ground pepper if you like
Blend all the garlic egg, salt, mustard, pepper and oil in a blender on high till the dressing thickens and squeeze of lime juice blend again.
Set into the fridge
chop up one slice of bread or ideally one round pita spread shred it and throw it into a frying pan or skillet. Add one chopped clove of garlic and a dash of oil fry the bread mixing it with a wooden spoon for a few minutes on medium high heat till the bread is browned.
Remove outer leaves and chop the rest of the romaine lettuce place it into a large salad bowl. Add the dressing the croutons you made and parmesan cheese (grated from a hard block of it the yummiest) or sprinkle with fine grated. Toss the salad and enjoy with your hot wings and home fries any time. If you want them together bake on a higher rack the fries take out ten minutes earlier than the chicken wings.
Starlight's Key Lime ice cream.
Three scoops of vanilla ice cream
(Favorite is president's choice real vanilla bean or Bryer's same).
One chopped lime
One Tbsp oil like safflower grape seed or vegetable
One Tsp of sugar or dash of Grand Marnier
Toss the sliced lime in the oil in a fry pan on medium high with the sugar or Grand Marnier till the
limes are browned then cover with a lid and simmer on med low for a couple of minutes.
Scoop the ice cream and pour the hot lime mix
with liquid from the pan over the ice cream. Serve
immediately.
